Why OCS?

What if the problem isn't a lack of potential?

Many young people in Ogbomoso carry real ability, curiosity, and ambition. What they often lack is not talent — it is exposure. The information, mentorship, and framework needed to turn possibility into a practical path forward.

Ogbomoso Career Summit exists as that bridge: a structured, mentor-led experience that moves a student from simply hearing about opportunity to actually building a plan toward it.

The Gap We Are Closing

Five reasons capable students still lose their way.

Each is distinct, but together they explain why intelligence alone is rarely enough to secure a clear future.

01

The Awareness Gap

Students often make major decisions, including university course choices, with limited exposure to the full range of modern and global career opportunities available to them.

02

Outdated Career Information

The world of work has shifted toward digital infrastructure, the creative economy, and social impact — while many decisions still rest on conventional, outdated models.

03

The "Illusion of Access"

Internet access does not automatically become opportunity. Without a framework, connections, and guidance, information rarely turns into a realistic pathway forward.

04

Education vs Future of Work

Academically capable students can still struggle to connect their subjects and university choices to relevant, modern career trajectories.

05

Lack of Purpose

Career guidance often centres on survival or prestige, without addressing the deeper "why." OCS helps students connect their talents to God's purpose for their lives.

From Awareness to Action

OCS is not simply a motivational conference. It is a practical, experiential programme built to move students from exposure to ownership and purpose — across three connected pillars.

01
The Shift

Global Sector Exposure

Professionals from digital systems, the creative economy, social impact, and other emerging fields deliver high-impact spotlights that help students discover unconventional career pathways.

02
The Craft

The Career Journey Lab

Working alongside mentors, students build a personalised career roadmap — exploring interests, natural strengths, university courses, and 5–10 year trajectories.

03
The Anchor

The Spiritual Foundation

Students explore the deeper "why" behind their ambitions — connecting talent, career, purpose, service, and impact, anchored in Christ.

Don't just dream. Map the journey.

The Vision Behind OCS

Led by young changemakers who know the gap firsthand.

Ebunoluwa Obanisola
Visioneer & Chairman, OCS ’26

OCS ’26 is led by a team of young changemakers who know the gap firsthand. The Chairman, Ebunoluwa Obanisola, is a medical student, systems thinker, and 2023 Millennium Campus Fellow who has led advocacy on sexual and reproductive health and gender-based violence through her roles with BAMS and NiMSA TOGBV. Even while progressing through medical school, she has built scalable frameworks that uplift communities.

Now driving the Ogbomoso Career Summit, Ebunoluwa is partnering with sponsors to deliver structured, life-changing mentorship to secondary school students. This peer-led model is intentional. The team is close enough in age to relate to the students’ struggles, yet far enough along to offer credible guidance. That closeness gives OCS ’26 an authenticity that a purely adult-run programme would struggle to achieve.

The Story of the Logo

More than a logo. A vision in motion.

The Centre
The white circle represents the student — the reason this entire movement exists.
The Journey
Four open curves represent exposure, mentorship, growth, and purpose — radiating outward from the student.
The Light
The green-to-blue transition represents growth, knowledge, excellence, innovation, and global impact.

Where a student begins should never determine where they can end.

Ogbomoso is not a limitation. It is a starting point.

The future is wider than they can currently see.

Help us give young people the exposure, guidance, mentorship, and purpose they need to navigate it.
